In this article is only guide you step by step for your Google Gmail to enable POP3 and SMTP into your Outlook Express. If you are used other Email Services Provider, please you must know your
Email Provider POP3, SMTP and INCOMING & OUTGOING PORT’S number, the less step is almost same. Click here “POP3, SMTP And Incoming & Outgoing Number Chart” for other POP3 and SMTP etc from other email provider.
Are you looking for Outlook Express as your simple Email Marketing Tool?
1.) Open your outlook express, and if you are first time open the application, the outlook express main screen it will pop up like this,
just click CANCEL & YES button and we start over from outlook express main content
2.) Go to TOOLS –Accounts
3.) At
INTERNET ACCOUNT table, click MAIL tab and at TOP LEFT HAND corner, click ADD button and MAIL
4.) At
INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD : Your Name - enter any Display Name you like to appear at your receiver mail box, and click NEXT
5.) At
Internet E-mail Address - Enter your Google Gmail Full Valid Email Address, such as
yourname@gmail.com at required field
6.) At
Email Server Names - select POP3 at drop down menu at My Incoming Mail Sever is a [POP3] server. And at Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server blank field enter “pop.gmail.com”, and at An SMTP server is the server that is used for your outgoing e-mail “smtp.gmail.com”, and click NEXT
7.) At
Internet Mail Logon – at your Account Name blank field, type your Google Gmail Full Valid Email Address such as
yourname@gmail.com and at copy and paste your Gmail Password and TICK “Remember Password”, and click NEXT. Please do not click Log On Using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
8.) At Congratulation – just click Finish
9.) Now return to your
Internet Account table, at Mail tab, you can see like this “pop.gmail.com – this is your actually Gmail Account just now you setup, but we need to complete it at properties” into your Mail tab content, select it and DOUBLE CLICK or at your Left hand side click PROPERTIES
10.) Now at this
Email Address Properties table, at General tab, type the represent name for this Email Address (recommend you used back
yourname@gmail.com, this is easy manage when you have more than one email account in Outlook Express.,
==> And Enter your
Names (this will appear in your sending out mail to your receiver),
==> Enter your
Organization (this will appear at your mail properties on sending out),
==> Enter your
Reply Address (put the same email address
yourname@gmail.com if you plan used this Gmail Address to reply your mail at this email address)
And if you plan DO NOT
“include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing” then just UNTICK or do not TICK it.
11.) At
Servers tab, make sure all the information at “My Incoming Mail Server is a [POP3] server. Incoming Mail (POP3) is a pop.gmail.com. Outgoing mail (SMTP) is a smtp.gmail.com. Your Account name should is valid full email address such as
yourname@gmai.com, and password is enter with REMEMBER PASSWORD (no need enter future email password when downloading).
And at Outgoing Mail Server line, TICK the box at
“My Server Requires Authentication”, and make sure you do not change anything in SETTING after click the Setting button
12.) At
Advanced tab, make sure you have TICK “OUTGOING MAIL (SMTP) - This Server Requires A Secure Connection (SSL)” and INCOMING MAIL (POP3) This Server Requires A Secure Connection (SSL)”
And at Outgoing Mail (SMTP) type this number “465” and at Incoming Mail (POP3) type this number “965”
And please do not TICK or change the less thing in this tab, let it as default.Congratulation, now you can start to RECEIVING and SENDING your Google Gmail mails through Outlook Express.Next we talk how to customize your Outlook Express application setting and what more features we can do at Outlook Express.
